The OHANA East has 445-rooms, three restaurants, pool, hot tub with jet spa, meeting rooms, fitness room and a business center. One of the restaurants has great Tai food, there is a coffee bar with bagels and sandwiches and a sports bar pizza type restaurant. You'll also find a game room to keep your kids entertained for a few minutes while you do your laundry next door at the hotel coin washerette. The OHANA brand of hotels is dependable for clean, safe rooms and great service. Waikiki is really a short strip of land, you can walk end to end in less than 45 minutes so everything is "well located and central". Waikiki is anchored on one end by the Honolulu Zoo, Kapiolani Park and the Waikiki Aquarium and on the other end by the huge Hilton Hawaiian Village resort.
This hotel is a bit off-center and closer (just a bit off center) to the Zoo and Park end of Waikiki, but really, it is one SHORT block set back from Waikiki Beach. If you like to walk or Jog -- all of Waikiki is a great place either along the Ala Wai canal, along the beach, the ocean street (Kalakaua Avenue), around Diamond Head or around the park. Walking will take twice as long as usual, you WILL want to stop and smell the roses, in fact, you won't be able to help it!
Market Manager Note: If you prefer to hang out at the pool, this is not the hotel for you. Although the pool and hot tub area is nice, it does not get much sun as it is bordered on all sides by hotel towers. However, the beach near the hotel is a nice swimmable and safe beach for your children. The water is usually always warm year round and It is lagoon like with white sand great for digging. Try the Pad Seo at the Tai restaurant, my favorite! Enjoy!
